I’m not pretending anything. Is there a false premise / promise in there somewhere that I’m missing? It’s 100% written from a US-centric point of view, I’ve recognized that previously in many, many comments. It’s a short piece, a humor piece no less, not a journalistic global exposé. It’d have to be 1,000,000 words long to cover the global shit show that’s unfolded in the past 6 months. Just since I published this piece, we’ve had Nice, the failed coup in Turkey, and more police officers assassinated in Baton Rouge. That’s just off the top of my head, and this piece was published less than 2 weeks ago!

As I’ve told other commenters who want every piece on Medium to cover their personal points of view as well as every angle under the sun and tailored to every audience possible, please, by all means, write your own piece. No one is stopping you.
